There was a fatal motorcycle crash on Illinois Route 59 in Plainfield early this morning (April 28, 2015) involving a motorcyclist colliding with a pedestrian.
Based upon preliminary information, the collision occurred between the motorcycle and pedestrian sometime shortly after midnight. According to Plainfield Police, the motorcyclist was traveling north on Route 59, and the pedestrian was near Route 59 at Lockport at the time of the collision.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be publicly identified, died at the accident scene.
The motorcyclist, identified as Sean Fitzpatrick, 27, of Plainfield, was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet for treatment of his accident injuries. He was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m., according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.

An official at the scene told reporters the motorcycle was found a couple of blocks from the actual scene of impact.

There was a fatal car accident yesterday (April 18, 2015) on a frontage road off of Interstate 55 (I-55) in Bolingbrook.
According to the Illinois State Police, the accident happened at approximately 1:05 p.m., as a vehicle drove off of I-55 and struck a car traveling on a frontage road (near 220 East Frontage Road) just north of Illinois Route 53.
In the car traveling on the frontage road was a 25-year-old mother, her young son, and daughter.
The mother, identified as Yesenia Quintero, 25, and her son, Isaac, 2, were pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
The daughter, Joslyn, 4, was hospitalized for treatment of her accident injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.

A car struck a pedestrian at approximately 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning (April 11, 2015) in Crest Hill, Illinois.
This pedestrian accident happened on Plainfield Road near Birch Street.
The pedestrian was identified as Daniel Smeets, 56, of Joliet. According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, he died from his accident injuries Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015.
The driver of the car stopped after the accident, and was tested for sobriety. According to Crest Hill Police, there was no indication the driver was intoxicated prior to the accident.

There was a fatal Will County collision between a semi truck and car Wednesday afternoon (April 8, 2015) on Interstate 55 (I-55) in Plainfield, Illinois.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident happened at 4:26 p.m., as a semi truck traveling northbound hit a 1999 Chrysler that was disabled on the roadway.
The driver of the car, Eric Sharpe, 47, of Joliet, was extricated from the car, but had already died from accident injuries.
The driver of the semi was taken to a hospital and had injuries considered to be non-life-threatening.

Witnesses to the accident said that Sharpe may have been experiencing car trouble and was trying to pull to the side of I-55. As one semi swerved to avoid hitting the Chrysler, another semi struck Sharpe’s car, Stratton said.
