Motorcyclist Dies Following Accident Near Frankfort

There was a fatal motorcycle accident early Friday (August 28, 2015) near Frankfort, Illinois.

Details on the motorcycle accident – especially its causes – appear limited at this time.

The accident happened at approximately 1:00 a.m., near Frankfort Square Road and Benton Drive.

The motorcyclist was identified as Laurence Mirabella, 47, of Frankfort.

His accident injuries included head trauma.  He died from accident injuries early Saturday morning.

Head-On Collision In Plainfield Injures Driver

There was a Will County head-on collision Wednesday morning (August 19, 2015) in Plainfield.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the collision happened at approximately 9:43 a.m. on U.S. 30 and West 127th Street, and involved a semi truck and car colliding in a “head-on” crash.

It is unknown what caused the accident, but one vehicle may have veered into the opposing lane.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash.

The driver of the car, said to be a man in his forties from Plainfield, had to be extricated from his vehicle.  He was then flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital to Downers Grove for treatment of his accident injuries.

“Wrong-Way Driver” Collision On I-55

There was a fatal “wrong-way driver” accident early this morning (August 8, 2015) on Interstate 55 (I-55) near Bolingbrook.

Details concerning this fatal “wrong-way driver” crash appear limited at this time.  However, according to the Illinois State Police it appears that one car was heading in the northbound lane in the wrong direction.

The accident happened at approximately 2:50 a.m.

Both drivers died as a result of the crash.  They were identified as Ariel Dorado, 25, and Daniel Zamora, 20.  Dorado was the driver traveling south in the northbound lanes.

Fatal Car Collision In Homer Township

There was a fatal Will County car collision Sunday (August 2, 2015) in Homer Township.

According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, the accident happened at 135th Street and Smith Road at approximately 5:00 p.m.

At that time, a 2002 Mazda was hit by a 2011 Nissan.

The driver of the Mazda was identified as Joan D. Kaczmarek, 75, of Lockport.  She was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox for treatment of her accident injuries.  She was pronounced dead there at 7:30 p.m.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Jerry Moretti, 51, of Romeoville.  He was treated for minor accident injuries at Silver Cross.

According to the Daily Southtown article of August 3, 2015, titled “Lockport woman killed in crash,” Moretti “was cited for disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office.”

This fatal Will County accident remains under investigation by the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
