There was a collision Thursday (April 21, 2016) near Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox Township.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 11:40 a.m. near Spencer and Gougar Roads. The accident happened as a car traveling southbound on Spencer Road “ran a red light” and hit a delivery truck that was heading northbound on Gougar Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the car might have suffered a stroke, however at this time it is unknown whether that was the cause of the accident or if it occurred after the accident.
The driver of the car was hurt during the accident, and the injuries were life-threatening in nature. The driver was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for treatment of those accident injuries.
The truck driver was also hurt during the accident, and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox for treatment of injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
This Will County car accident remains under investigation.
