Two Hit & Run Accidents Involving Injuries

Two recent hit & run accidents in Will County are featured in the November 16, 2015 Joliet Patch article titled “Cops Hunting Fugitive From Horrific Crash” and the November 16 Romeoville Patch article titled “Hit-and-Run Crash In Plainfield Leaves 1 Hospitalized.”

Both of these hit & run accidents resulted in accident injuries for those involved.  In the crash discussed in the Joliet Patch article, one man suffered “severe head injuries.”  In the crash summarized in the Romeoville Patch, accident injuries were not specified, but were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.

Fatal Hit & Run Accident In Rockdale, Illinois

There was a fatal Will County hit & run accident on Monday night (August 25, 2014) in Rockdale, Illinois.

An excerpt from the August 26, 2014 Romeoville Patch article titled “Alcohol Played ‘Major Role’ in Fatal Hit & Run:  Police“:

Will County Sheriff’s police said a 31-year-old Lockport man spent hours drinking with a friend before intentionally lying down in the roadway, where he was struck and killed late Monday night in Rockdale.

The Lockport man who was killed was identified as Daniel Lietke.

The driver of the car that struck Lietke was identified as Vernon Howard, 37.

Boy Injured During Hit & Run Accident In Joliet, Illinois

There was a hit & run accident in Joliet, Illinois on Friday, June 20, 2014 that seriously injured an 11-year-old boy.

The boy was crossing Comstock Street at approximately 6:30 p.m., when he was struck by a hit & run driver who was driving an SUV.  At the time of the accident, the SUV was driving northbound.

The boy was first taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, but then airlifted to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Joliet Hit & Run Accident Leads To Man’s Death

There was an apparent hit & run accident in Joliet on Saturday night (February 22, 2014) that led to the death of a 62-year-old man.

This accident appears to have happened late Saturday night, as Joliet Police received a call just before midnight regarding a man’s body on the road. The man was found on North Center Street near Frank Avenue, and the man was pronounced dead at the accident scene at 1:35 a.m.

The man, identified as Anthony Bausal, of Joliet, was apparently walking home from the Crow’s Nest bar at the time of this hit & run accident.
